Pick a little Peace and Patience, Mama

When the days get long…

To take away the bitterness upon your tongue.

I pray you do not reach again amidst the thorns.

Beneath the Vine

The fruit is full and bearing strong.

Pick a little Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness,

Instead of fickle spite, my friend.

It will cause a deepened thirst;

A hungering for righteousness…

The blessed will then drink deep

And will be filled.

Pick a little Gentleness and Self control, my dear.

You will taste and see that He is good…

That what He gives is of Himself

And He’s enough.

His fruit is never wilting,

Never rotting,

Never dying,

Eternal life.
