New Life

Everywhere we look,

there are fresh new shoots

pushing up through

the dark of the earth’s womb.

Tight little buds are uncurling, stretching out,

and bursting into bloom.

Spring is flitting here and there,

breathing its warm breath on the cold cheeks

of a wintered-over world,

and kissing it awake.

Sweet Violets

Down by the moss bank

Deep, so deep,

I found a bed of violets

Still half asleep.

Raining Petals

It wasn’t so wet as to say the sky was crying it’s eyes out…no, not that kind of downpour, nor that sort of mood. But there was this constant spattering of diamond-like drops, as if the city hung like a window box on the world and lifted its skyscrapers like blooms, to the refreshing, profluent shower of some cosmic watering can.

Another  Spring

Still longing for

A warmer sun that speaks to me,

A softer wind that sings to me,

My windows opened to the sky today.

Underneath the frozen sea of glass

Something crumbled shards of ice and clay;

Something Invisible,

Something without an end,

 and suddenly

The hillside and the valleys

Are in bloom.
